NED-3010: a shipboard depth-sounding station
NED-3010 is selected for a permanent marine depth post. In one solution, the emitter in the hull of the vessel, the cable track, the watch screen and the transmission of data to other systems must be agreed. A large display is only a visible part of the purchase. Below, we’ll take a look at the model’s capabilities and the actual River Marine Pro kit, so that the quotation matches the ship’s performance rather than a single panel photo.

What kind of work is NED-3010 for?
The NSR manufacturer defines the NED-3010 as a navigation sonar for obtaining depth under a ship through transducers. It is convenient to consider as a separate measuring post: the watch receives current readings and an echogram on its own screen. This is the task of marine navigation; the purchase of an instrument does not in itself mean obtaining a hydrographic complex with a ready-made bottom plan and processing of measurements.
In the initial enquiry, describe a typical operating passage: vessel type, area, required measurement range and where the crew reads the depth. Equipment selection does not call for a universal safe margin or a promise to detect an obstacle ahead of the bow. Passage requirements and the procedure for using readings are determined separately from the echo sounder brand.
The radiator, line and screen are one system
Own card River Marine Pro offer NED-3010 radiator NXD-200Acable 15 m and assembly tank NXT-100. Therefore, quotation should be evaluated in its entirety: where the emitter is located, how the line to the post runs, where the display is fixed and what mounting parts are required for a particular housing. The presence of a tank in the list does not mean the ready-made installation on any vessel without the approval of the design.
The real track is especially important. The distance between the intended installation sites in a straight line and the length of the cable on the marine passages may vary. If the complete 15 m is not enough, this is discussed before ordering according to the documentation of the selected configuration. Arbitrary line build-up should not be considered an enabled opportunity just because the buyer needs a longer cable.
Two channel models and scope of supply
In the official specification NSR Two channels and frequencies are indicated. 200 and 50 kHz. This is information about the capabilities of the family, not proof that there are two emitters in a particular box. Our card lists one. NXD-200A. If the project needs two measurement locations or a different frequency configuration, the additional transducer, connections, and applicability are agreed upon by separate positions of the complete solution.
First, describe the result: one work channel or multiple measurement points, where they are located and how the data should be used. Then select the exact sensors and composition. A photograph of a two-area screen does not replace such a specification and does not confirm the actual number of transducers supplied. The stored sensor cannot be declared suitable only at a familiar frequency.
Screen for everyday work
The NED-3010 has a 10.1-inch touchscreen color display. The manufacturer lists automatic depth determination, range selection and gain control. When choosing a post, it is important to understand where the screen will be visible in the operating position and whether controls are available. Place under the panel, environmental conditions and power supply are set for installation, not output from the diagonal.
Automatic functions help organize measurement, but do not turn any number that appears into confirmation of the correct installation of the entire system. The result depends on the converter, and on its placement, and on the agreed configuration. After installation, the selected kit is checked against the applicable documentation; the article does not specify the mounting values, sensitivity or thresholds for a particular vessel.
Depth data outside the display
The specification provides for the exchange of quotation IEC 61162-1 and IEC 61162-2, and the list of functions – BAM-alarm. If another marine appliance needs depth, its exact model and expected data should be included in the task. The name of the standard itself does not confirm the readiness of any connection: the composition of messages, interface, settings and external line are agreed for both parties.
It is convenient to separate the two results of the order: own sonar indication and data in the receiving system. The second will require coordinated connections and receiver verification. The emitter cable is not simultaneously a cable to all external devices; their tracks, accessories and work are included in the quotation according to a real scheme.
The price of a full hardware set
At the time of reading, the River Marine Pro card contains price and availability. It lists the display NED-3010, NXD-200A with cable 15 m and NXT-100. The current configuration, the actual balance, documents and the total price of the agreed composition are confirmed by letter. Additional channel, external lines, installation and configuration are not automatically included in this guide.
