Entel HT644: handheld communications for the crew
Entel HT644 is a handheld analog marine VHF-radio with display. It is considered for working communication of the crew outside the permanent post: on the deck, at the place of work or on the boat. Workstation near a person
The HT644 has its own controls, screen, microphone and speaker. This is a complete handheld radio unit that does not require a separate remote control panel for normal voice exchange. In his own photo you can see the front panel and the installed antenna. The picture allows you to evaluate the layout, but does not show the charging space, spare battery or marking of the proposed release.
This arrangement is useful when personnel move between locations and need communications at hand. The handheld radio and fixed bridge station nevertheless remain different parts of the system. Using a handheld on the same vessel does not automatically give it the capabilities of the base equipment. Check the exact models, modes and authorized working channel set for interoperability.
Entel describes the HT644 as an analog model of the marine VHF band. The capabilities of a digital radio network or other product of the family are not added to it on a similar housing. For the purchase, it is important to formulate the task of voice communication, and designate special requirements for emergency or explosion-proof equipment separately.
Screen and channel selection functions
The screen helps the user see the selected channel. The official description also indicates scanning activity and blocking controls. These functions are related to the organization of the station itself: they do not turn one device into several independent receivers while listening to all conversations.
If the vessel has its own communication procedure, the quotation must agree on the applicable set of channels and equipment preparation. The presence of an international, American or Canadian table in the model description does not mean that any such regime is allowed and suitable for a particular place of work. Here we do not specify air procedures and do not replace the instructions of the person responsible for communication.
For the buyer, a practical question is what data should be clear to the employee on the front panel. With several different stations on board, model names, agreed channels, and a suite of accessories are best passed on to the supplier together. The choice of HT644 is then linked to the existing system, not just the VHF label in the directory.
Audio for a real workplace
A remote microphone or headset changes the way the station is worn: the radio unit can be left fixed, and the desired control and sound can be placed closer to the user. For the HT644, the manufacturer lists the external audio accessories and the fixable connector. This is the possibility of selecting equipment, and not confirmation of the presence of any headset in the price of the station.
The VOX mode on the official page is associated with Entel’s compatible audio accessories. Therefore, the request “work without occupation of hands” should include a specific version of the headset and the conditions of the workplace. One such connector is not enough. Noise, headgear, personal protective equipment and the method of attachment affect what composition should be agreed upon.
Body and battery: consider release
The modern HT644 Series 2.0 Entel specifies IP68 protection with a condition of 2 m for 4 hours and a battery of 2200 mAh. In our card there are other values - 5 m per hour and 1800 mAh. These sets cannot be combined into one promised characteristic of the delivered product. We will clarify the release, battery designation and applicable documentation before ordering.
The test conditions of the hull do not constitute a recommendation to specifically submerge the station or a guarantee of the safety of any in-service specimen. Similarly, battery capacity alone does not promise a given shift duration. It is affected by the state of the battery and mode of operation. If the duration is critical, the requirements for its confirmation are included in the quotation.
Full working kit HT644
The manufacturer's standard list contains a battery, charger, belt clip, antenna and a brief manual. The actual inventory of the warehouse supply is agreed separately. If you need a spare battery, remote audio or additional charging space, include them in the selected hardware kit with a total price. Accessories should not be ordered by a random set of separate similar items.
Send the type of vessel, the purpose of the workplace, models of interlocutors, conditions of wearing, requirements for battery and charging. Provide the required documents and address of receipt in Russia or Kazakhstan. The HT644 is not declared to be a replacement for any GMDSS terminal or explosion-proof model based on the same purpose.
