GMDSS: what is on the ship and what changes over time

Equipment of the global maritime disaster communication system is the part where the same does not work enough: half of the positions have a shelf life of power supply elements and mandatory survey. We analyze the composition so as not to be before the check with an expired ZIP.

Handheld marine radio NSR NTW-1000
NSR NTW-1000: handheld marine radio. Working and emergency batteries, charger and documents are agreed upon when selecting the kit.
Defendant AIS-SART NSR NAS-1000
NSR NAS-1000: AIS-SART defendant. The timing of the replacement of power supply elements is checked by marking the specific device and the manufacturer's documentation.

What usually comes in

Where you get most often

Batteries. In buoy, defendant and handheld stations, power supply elements have a date after which they are not considered fit — even if the capacity is in order. This is the most common reason for the remark, and it is also the most offensive: the equipment is working, and the documents cannot be closed.

About "cheaper analogue"

In GMDSS, not what looks like, but what is approved for use on your type of vessel is suitable. The certificate of approval is tied to the model and to the authority that issued it. Savings on an unapproved position result in the fact that it will have to be changed completely before the examination.

What to keep in reserve

A set of power supply elements to wearable stations, spare fuses power supply unit and one set of consumables according to your terminal model. For ships on long voyages, the second handheld station: its failure disables not the device, but the entire set according to the standard.

How to find a replacement

Send a list of what's worth, with models and dates of the last survey. We'll pick up compatible positions with valid approvals and say what needs to be replaced right now and what will wait to dock. Our catalogue is below on this page.
