The AV-110 in a platform project: separating the aviation link from marine communications

A site with marine infrastructure may have several communications tasks at the same time. If the project includes an aviation link, describe it as a separate position with its own channel and equipment list. The NAVIOM AV-110 announcement identifies offshore platforms as an application. The technical sheet, however, describes a VHF aviation radio, not a universal replacement for the marine communications equipment already used at the facility.
Separate purpose from surroundings
The AV-110 covers 118.000–136.99166 MHz with 25 and 8.33 kHz spacing. Associate those parameters with the aviation working-channel list. Installation alongside marine equipment does not change the band or establish operation on another radio network. Define a simple boundary for the project: who uses the aviation channel, from which position and through which device. The site’s other systems retain their separate tasks and requirements.
Describe the operational exchange between services
If an employee participates in several processes, state which message is received and where the information is passed under the agreed procedure. This is an organisational link, not evidence that radios are electrically interconnected. The supplied AV-110 sheet claims no inter-network gateway or control of third-party equipment. Treat any such interconnection as a separate task requiring additional information, while preparing an understandable aviation position independently of unverified interfaces.
Agree the physical operating position
AV-110 nominal supplies are 12 and 24 V DC, with a maximum voltage of 31.5 V. The antenna path uses 50 ohms and an SO-239 socket. Select an external loudspeaker for a 4-ohm load; audio output is at least 10 W at 13.75 V. List the source, antenna, cable and speaker separately in the bill. Consider the position as a whole: panel location, audibility and cable routes matter alongside the radio model.
Do not replace evidence with a site description
The short sheet establishes no explosion protection, IP rating or set of marine certificates. Mentioning platforms does not settle these questions for every installation area. List the proposed conditions and required evidence in the enquiry. Prepare channels, GRP groups and the three quick-button assignments for the operator as well. This keeps the discussion concrete: which model properties are established, which requirements belong to the project and what needs separate agreement before supply.
Questions and answers
Does the AV-110 become a marine radio when installed on a platform?
No. Its stated specifications relate to the aviation band; the installation location does not change the device’s purpose.
Is a gateway into a marine network confirmed?
The supplied technical sheet lists no such function. Network interconnection requires separate consideration.
