SAILOR 6390 is bought to receive NAVTEX, but the usefulness of the system manifests itself after the appearance of messages on the panel. On the watch, you need to distinguish the unread from the one chosen for further work, return to the necessary warning and, if necessary, save information outside the device. Therefore, the set 6390 with the SAILOR 6004 panel should be chosen for an understandable workflow, and not only from the photo of the receiving unit.
List of messages is not the result of processing
Manufacturer's manual 98-137261-F describes the Unread, Tagged, and All tabs: unread, tagged, and a generic list. They help to treat the available messages differently. Opening the text, marking it and performing the necessary actions are different events. You can’t take the reading icon as confirmation that the crew has already taken the warning into account in their work.
Imagine a ship that is going to go and call at the port. Some reports refer to the current area, others may be needed at the next site. The practical task is to quickly show the next watchman the desired text along with its context. To do this, determine in advance who selects messages and where the decisions taken are marked. The device helps to work with information, but does not replace the established procedure for its evaluation.
Labeling, printing and unloading solve different tasks
For a configuration with a panel 6004, the manual describes marking the message, printing and saving the base on a USB carrier. When unloading, a file with comma separators is created. It's an occasion to discuss the use of information in the workplace, not the promise of a universal e-log or automatic shore synchronization.

What to coordinate for the transfer of watch
A useful scenario looks simple: open the desired text, establish its relationship to the upcoming site and show where it will find a replacement employee. This is the organizational task of the crew. List names on the screen should help it, not create two parallel sets of messages with unclear purpose.
If both screen and printer are used, their work is considered separately: the manual provides for separate filters for output directions. File saving is checked for the desired result
Before buying, determine who needs export: a watch for the transfer of information to the responsible for the equipment or an office specialist. Agree the example of the file and how to read it in the selected program. Being able to retrieve a file does not guarantee compatibility with any application and does not make it a legally significant log in and of itself.
Uploading a message base also does not mean copying the entire NAVTEX configuration. If the task is to replace a faulty block and restore the previous system, the order of saving settings is discussed separately. You should not promise to restore hardware from a CSV that is designed for stored messages. Verification of these actions is included in the agreed work; it is not considered completed due to the reference to the manual.
A set to work, not a single receiver
The River Marine Pro's own card describes the SAILOR 6390, the panel 6004 and the antenna. At the time of reading, the price of the set is see the product page. The printer, USB media, office program and their configuration do not automatically become part of the delivery.
If the workbar is already installed, first find out what really changes and whether the desired order of work will remain. The capabilities of the newer SAILOR 6391 do not carry over to the 6390 in terms of similarity of name.
