NSR NGR-3000 and NGC-3000 have similar designations and color displays. But when purchasing, it is important to understand what kind of data the vessel lacks. To show your position and determine where the nose is directed are different tasks. Buying a more expensive device is justified by the desired function, not by the similarity of names.

Situation and movement

NGR-3000 is a navigational GNSS receiver. It is considered when coordinates and provided navigation data are needed for its own indication or transmission to other devices. The manufacturer’s documentation lists GNSS systems and output messages, but the presence of a course field on the screen does not in itself make the device a satellite compass.

COG means the direction of movement relative to the ground. If the ship is blown by the current or wind, the direction of travel may differ from the direction of the nose. There is no steady traffic in the parking lot from which such a direction could be determined. Therefore, COG should not be used automatically instead of heading.

Nasal direction

The NGC-3000 is described by the manufacturer as THD/GNSS: a direction transfer device with navigation functions. It is considered when the system needs heading, including for tasks where one direction of movement is not enough. When coordinating such an installation, the set of the antenna part, orientation, placement and issuance of the necessary data are checked.

This does not imply the promise of certain accuracy at any point of installation or under any reception conditions. Numerical characteristics refer to a specific configuration and documentation conditions. In this comparison, there is no invented speed threshold, after which one device automatically turns into another.

First the demand, then the budget.

If the task is to replace the existing source of coordinates while maintaining the accepted scheme, first check NGR-3000 and the required messages. If a radar or other system needs a source of direction for the nose, the requirements for the heading examine NGC-3000. You can't close this specification line just because the cheaper receiver also shows degrees.

The reverse error is to buy an additional feature without the need. If the ship already has an agreed source of direction, and only the source of position is required, the purchase of a new compass kit should be justified separately. The presence of multiple sources still requires the accepted procedure for selecting and transmitting data.

Compare the entire scope of supply

The price of the display and the price of the kit with the antenna part can mean different volume of delivery. The NGC-3000's own card lists the processor unit, display, antenna unit and cable. For the NGR-3000, the antenna kit and connections must also be confirmed. The display photo is not an image of all the parts actually supplied.

Send the purpose of the new device, a list of stored equipment and the desired output. We select a quotation with confirmation of configuration and documents for a specific installation. For delivery to St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Astrakhan or another city of Russia and Kazakhstan, specify the address of receipt; the cost of transportation and the term are agreed separately.

  1. Determine: position, movement or heading
  2. Verify the desired outputs and antenna composition
  3. Coordinate configuration, documents and kit

The scheme describes the preparation of the order and is not an electrical connection scheme.

Questions before buying

Is COG and the direction of the nose the same?

Nope. COG describes the direction of movement relative to the ground, heading - the orientation of the nose. When demolished, they can vary.

Do you need to buy NGR-3000 and NGC-3000 together?

Nope. First, the data required and the sources already available are determined. These are the two quotations in question, not the mandatory double set.

The photo of NGC-3000 shows the entire set.

No, the display is on. The antenna unit, processor and cables are listed and agreed in the delivery specification.

Our quotation

Two different roles in the navigation system. These prices refer to the quotation of own cards at the time of preparation; the composition, documents, current availability and final price are confirmed before the order. This is not a mandatory set of two devices.

Delivery to Russia and Kazakhstan. Indicate the city - agree on the cost and delivery time of the selected set. Availability, condition and documents are confirmed before ordering.
