Separate the purpose of equipment
Marine telephony and data transmission should be considered separately from mandatory security functions. FleetOne is chosen for its communication task. Purchasing a terminal does not automatically replace GMDSS equipment on a particular vessel.
In the application, specify the area of operation, the tasks of the crew and the shipowner, the need for voice and data. This helps to distinguish between technical equipment and service conditions. There is no single rate suitable for all ships under the name FleetOne.
Harmonize the kit
The quotation must explicitly list the antenna part, terminal and required accessories. The presence of pipes, cables and power supply cannot be determined only from the photo. The family has different delivery compositions, so the full designation is important.
If part of the equipment is retained, attach its markings. For installation, you need information about the location and cable routes. The old kit on the ship is not automatically compatible with the new delivery.
Area of work and conditions of service
To calculate the connection, the expected areas of operation and usage requirements are required. The availability of the service and its conditions are confirmed for the selected project. Geography cannot be replaced by the catchphrase “satellite communications everywhere.”
Tariff and setup are agreed separately from the purchase of equipment. If you compare FleetOne, FleetBroadband and VSAT, compare real tasks, composition and regular expenses. These directions are not the same variants of the same device.
Statement for quotation
Prepare the ship’s data, the area of operation, the necessary telephony and the nature of the traffic. List the existing components and the desired new composition. For delivery you need a city or point of receipt and details.
The FleetOne card is the beginning of the approval process. SAILOR6110 and other safety equipment are considered as separate positions with their purpose and requirements. The final quotation should clearly separate sets and services.
