What standards are being checked
The tester is designed in accordance with ITU-R M-1371-1 and IEC 61993-2 standards as a technical tool for checking AIS units and the correct installation of AIS stations on a ship. That is, not only is the station turned on, but the path itself is checked: the transmitter, reception through channels and the quality of the installation.
Two ways to connect
The check can be carried out with connection to the checked equipment by cables through the attached attenuator - this is an accurate bench mode. Or through the air using an antenna - a quick check on board without interference with cable wiring.

The specimen is not new; it comes with cables, an attenuator and a bag. For the working tool of the service service, this is a common situation: the device is checked as a measuring tool, and its state is fixed during transmission. The package and documents are confirmed by letter before shipment.
Who's a good M1 for?
